Photographer Fined for feeding Dingo 05/11

A female wildlife photographer was yesterday fined $40,000 for feeding dingoes on world heritage listed Fraser Island and The Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM) says six of those dingoes had to be destroyed after they attacked people on Fraser Island.

Recently whilst photographing the island with fellow photographers Simon Beedle and Beau Mitchell we were lucky enough to come across a very placid dingo who walked right up to us letting us snap away at will. On Fraser Island there are so many warnings against feeding the animals including the all the fines so it is sad that these dingos have become malnourished and under fed but maybe that has to do with humans interfering with the dingos way of life and them become reliant on food from humans.

On another note earlier this week I sent off 50 rolls of Velvia 50 film to get processed and should be getting them back later today so keep an eye out for a lot of new content for the site.

A fine like that has to put a dent in your photo budget for the year.
