Great Barrier Reef – Far North Queensland 05/4

Being a landscape photographer certainly has its perks, on this day I spent a few hours on one of the three sand cays off the Cairns coast. I was doing a commercial shoot for a customer in Cairns and part of the shoot was to photograph the cay and surrounding reef which I can remember as clear as day, one of the most memorable shoots I have had.

I hope you like.

Cheers guys, this place is amazing there is no doubt about that. When the tinny motored over I could see it in the distance and was hoping like crazy that it would land on the cay and well it did, so stoked. Heading back later in the year for a longer trip so hopefully the weather is bang on and there are some sweet cloud to go with it, next time I will grad the sand though as it is a little bright for my liking.

Nice simple image Darren – great work with the colours, the tranny would look awesome. Having been to these cays I know what you mean about the water clarity. I’ll never forget jumping out of my cousin’s boat and snorkelling up onto the sand there one day.
