A change is coming… 06/3

This blog has been up almost a year now and it has been mainly to showcase new images and the such. I wont be doing anything radical to change the appearance of the blog or anything like that but more so making this blog more informative to the reader.

For starters, each month there will be an “Print of the Month” which will be available at a discounted rate. but along with the print of the month, I will be giving you an insight into some of the companies, products and services I use and recommend as well as the odd photo tip along the way. In the mean time this is an image taken from a different angle of the famous Q1 building in Surfers Paradise hope you like.

The change… you will have to wait and see but all I can say its a big one!!!

Taken on the Fuji G617 Velvia 50

Cheers

Surfers Paradise Aerial Photography 01/3

I’m Back… Thanks for your patience it has been a crazy start to the year that’s for sure.

The Gold Coast is forever changing and buildings are popping up left right and centre so after waiting for the completion of the Circle on Cavil project a few years ago I decided to head up in a helicopter to capture the city on the beach (Surfers Paradise) from a different angle. If you have been to the Gold Coast recently or you live here you will know that there are two major developments going on in Surfers Paradise at the moment, one being Soul a 77 story monolith and the HIlton development which will stand at 32 and 57 stories so there are cranes all over the place at the moment.

I thought I would post my take on Surfers Paradise but without all the cranes and construction going on. I will be also getting up in the air once Soul is finished so stay tuned for those images as well.

Cheers

Broadbeach Sunset 07/12

Broadbeach is one of the business hubs of the Gold Coast and not too far from where I live. I was watching the sky all day thinking that there might be a decent sunset so I got the camera cases ready and headed to Broadbeach to see what the sky would do. At first it was boring and I almost headed home thinking it was going to be a dud but I stuck around and played around with some close up exposures of the water and the reflections of the sky in the sand. As I began walking back to my case I saw a faint bit of colour in the sky and set up properly to see what would happen and only a minute or so later the sky began to glow with colour and I managed to get this shot looking back towards Surfers Paradise.

Bamboo 21/10

Bamboo Image

Howdy

Taken yesterday, this shot of bamboo was actually a lot harder to get than you would think. With a fair bit of wind about conditions for photographing the bamboo weren’t ideal especially with the Fuji G617 which paired with velvia 50 the exposures were just too long to worry about.

Here is my digital version and I will certainly be back out there to photograph next time there is no wind.

Its been a while since my last post so I decided to drag up a shot from the archives…

Taken a few years ago but what I can remember about this shot is that I was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.

Hope you like

Underwater wave 12/9

Hey everyone,

The past month has been very busy but finally things are beginning to settle down a little and i’ve found some time to put something up on here.

I have a massive backlog of images to edit from both Fraser Island and New Zealand but I should manage to get through a fair chunk of that this week but in the mean time this is a shot take on the Queensland/New South Wales border with the Aquatech housing for the 5D Mark 2. I kind of like this image as you can keep looking at it and find new things in it kind of like looking at fish swimming in a tank, anyway hope you all like it and ill keep you posted on when the new images are up.

Cheers

Currumbin Beach Black and White 04/9

Currumbin Beach photos

I found this shot today, hidden on my computer so after a quick edit here is a new pic of Currumbin here on the Gold Coast. This location is quite a good one, lots to shoot but i think the sky really makes this shot especially in black and white.

Darren Tierney - Gold Coast Landscape photography

Going back to my last blog post I decided to head out and take some more pics of a similar nature but this time I wanted something that would stand out a little more than the previous post. The surf has been on fire all week and I have been taking advantage of it especially with the very light winds of a morning.

Cheers and I hope you like this one, its one of my favorites.
